Stay cleared for takeoff with the FAA compliant Type 2 sleep test that’s redefining sleep diagnostics. Our at-home, no-wire, patch-based system is the first self-applied solution that meets FAA requirements for diagnosing Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). No lab visits, no delays—just fast, accurate results from the comfort of your own bed.
Why Pilots Need an FAA Compliant Type 2 Sleep Test
To protect the safety of pilots, passengers, and people on the ground, the FAA has begun to focus on the diagnosis and treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in pilots. The FAA is requiring many pilots to either be tested and treated for sleep apnea or risk disqualification or unemployment.
If you have been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Effortless Sleep Diagnostics can help you stay in the air. Our wireless, patch-based Type II sleep test is 100% FAA compliant. Skip the laboratory and get affordable sleep diagnostics from the comfort of your own bed.
As a pilot, you have a relationship with your Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). Now, you can turn that connection into a $500 reward by simply introducing your AME to ESD Health.
By introducing your AME to ESD Health, you’re helping other pilots get the care they need — and earning $500 for yourself when that connection leads to a completed sleep study.
How it works:
Sign up for the program.
Introduce ESD Health to your AME at your next physical.
Once your AME refers a patient who completes a sleep study, you get paid $500.
Get FAA compliant type 2 sleep test diagnostics minus the hassle of a sleep lab.
Our sleep test meets the FAA requirements of a laboratory Type I polysomnography or a Type II (7 channel minimum) at-home test.
Avoid unnecessary delays and get back in the air quickly.
A subpar home test could lead to false results, forcing you into unnecessary follow-up tests or treatments. For example, if it shows you don’t have sleep apnea, you could be required to take a more accurate test (like ours). Or, if you are inaccurately diagnosed with OSA, you might be required to undergo unnecessary CPAP treatment.

Sleep Diagnostics & Monitoring, Redefined
Four no-wires sensors are applied by patch to the forehead, upper chest, abdominal area and lower leg for maximum patient comfort during sleep. The patches can be attached within minutes, offer unprecedented ease-of-use and comfort to the patient and save valuable time during set-up and removal of the system.
Signals recorded include electroencephalogram (EEG), which reflects changes in brain activity, electromyography (EMG) to measure upper airway muscle activity and electrooculography (EOG) to register eye movements. Additional physiological data includes respiratory measurements, Electrocardiogram (ECG), electromyography leg, sound pressure (to detect snoring), body motion and body position.
Our sleep test captures a complete picture of your sleep health from the comfort of your own bed.
